    I have tried drawing with charcoal. it was messy until i discovered a trick. Under sketch your image to start then work on detail from top right down. If you need to go back. rest your hand on a peice of paper. voila

      Thank you for your comment. As I prefer to work on the entire drawing at once, the piece of paper is one of my tips as well. Working from upper right works best for we left-handers. I appreciate your taking the time to comment. Went to your blog… very interesting… but cannot locate the Kokot Plan. When I returned to complete my reply, it had disappeared so I apologize if this is something of a duplicate.
